Hi There! I'm Destiny - the graphic artist, wife and lucky mama bear of 3 incredible boys behind Play Rainbow Kids. Since I could hold a crayon, art has been my passion. I have always been a very hands on person. If I wasn't drawing or painting on paper and canvas, I was creating digital art on my computer with a pen and tablet.
I am both a home and public schooling mom. I fully support both types of education. I briefly home schooled my oldest for a couple of grades and he loved the experience. I used the Canadian Curriculum as a guide and got to work creating lesson plans. He discovered his passion for science and space during this time and decided to return to public school to pursue an education in astrophysics at the University of Waterloo.
I also home school my 6 year old son who was diagnosed with non-verbal Autism shortly after his 2nd birthday. We reached out to the Autistic community and got an incredible amount of support and guidance that really helped us cater his learning and development while also respecting his individual pace. While designing his lesson plans, I would find myself creating clipart that he loved. This helped to keep him engaged and excited about learning.
I stumbled across TpT and found a ton of educational content created by teachers, for teachers. The amount of time that this site saved me was incredible and after a couple of years I decided I would open my own shop offering my clipart back to the teachers to use in their own content.
Play Rainbow Kids was created to bring inspiration to education by promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity. My clipart and resources are designed to help teachers create a strong foundation from which they can build, and to reach a variety of learners on all levels.
